The DA in Limpopo has called for an immediate sitting of the Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Economic Development, Environment & Tourism to investigate escalating concerns surrounding Musina-Makhado SEZ.

This leads to to calls for a forensic investigation into its operations and expenditures.

The DA emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability to ensure the project’s alignment with sustainable development goals and the best interests of the Limpopo community.

This marks a significant development, as the MMSEZ was intended to be South Africa’s first Special Economic Zone developed and operated partially by a foreign entity.

The project has faced multiple challenges, including environmental concerns, governance issues & legal disputes.

Jacques Smalle, DA Member of the Provincial Legislature and spokesperson for Economic Development, confirmed the termination of services by the designated operator, Shenzhen Hoi Mor Resources Holding Company.
