Reports have surfaced suggesting that popular South African musician and entrepreneur DJ Sumbody, whose real name was Oupa Sefoka, was allegedly killed because of a drug-related dispute. According to emerging claims, DJ Sumbody had allegedly stolen a stash of drugs belonging to a man identified as Katiso Molefe and began selling them independently. This act is believed to have sparked tension and anger within the underworld, setting off a chain of events that would ultimately lead to his death.

Sources allege that Molefe, a figure with deep connections in the criminal world, viewed DJ Sumbody’s actions as both a betrayal and a threat to his operations. The situation reportedly escalated after Sumbody refused to return the drugs or the profits he made from selling them. Despite attempts to resolve the matter discreetly, things took a violent turn. This betrayal, according to insiders, sealed DJ Sumbody’s fate, leading to a deadly confrontation arranged by those seeking revenge.

On the night of his murder, DJ Sumbody was ambushed and gunned down in a hail of bullets in Johannesburg. The brutal nature of the attack suggested that it was not a random act of violence, but rather a carefully planned execution. His death shocked fans across the country and sent ripples through the entertainment industry, where he was loved for his hit songs and contributions to the amapiano movement. Law enforcement agencies have since been under pressure to uncover the full truth behind his assassination and bring those responsible to justice.

While the drug-theft theory continues to circulate, it remains one of several speculations surrounding DJ Sumbody’s murder. Police investigations have yet to confirm these claims, and no official arrests have directly linked the crime to the alleged dispute with Katiso Molefe. Nonetheless, the story has reignited conversations about the dark intersections between fame, money, and crime in South Africa’s music scene—reminding fans that behind the glitz and glamour, dangerous forces sometimes lurk unseen.
