A coordinated security operation led to the arrest of three suspects, including a female driver, following the theft of a Toyota Corolla Cross in Kempton Park on September 22.

According to security officials, the suspects were intercepted on the N12 highway near Bassonia shortly after stealing the vehicle from outside the Kempton Park Court. The grey Haval Jolion they were using had been linked by intelligence to a series of similar thefts across Gauteng for months.

Authorities stated that teams were deployed after the suspect vehicle was identified. After observing the Haval for over an hour, they witnessed the theft of the Toyota. The stolen car was quickly recovered after being abandoned, and the Haval was stopped on the N12.

The operation resulted in the recovery of both vehicles, along with vehicle-breaking tools and various car keys. The arrest was a joint effort involving private security companies, the Insurance Crime Bureau, and South African Police Service units.

The suspects remain in custody and are expected to appear in court soon.
