NCC MP Fadiel Adams has hit back at accusations by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lt. Gen. Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi that he handled classified information “recklessly.” Adams says the sensitive documents were anonymously slipped under his office door, and he took them to the police.
Adams added that he would act the same way again if the situation arose. The controversy stems from Mkhwanazi’s claim that Adams, not being a member of the parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence, should not have accessed the material.
The matter is now under investigation by the Madlanga Commission, which is probing the handling of classified intelligence and the broader relationship between political oversight and law enforcement
