The popular reality show “Married at First Sight Mzansi” continues to captivate audiences, with its ninth episode delivering intense drama and emotional confrontations.
The series, which airs on Mzanti Magic and Showmax, documents four couples who were matched by experts and met for the first time at the altar. The show follows them as they attempt to build a life together.
Recent episodes have shown significant strain on the relationships. Tensions escalated between Palesa Mphaki and Tshepo Miya, and a meeting among the female participants revealed further conflicts within the group.
One of the most talked-about couples is Makoto Phumodi and Nkuleleko Mahlangu. In a recent interview, Nkuleleko shared his reasons for joining the experiment: “I decided to come to the show to find a wife since I wasn’t getting anyone compatible,” he said. “I believed that the professional experts would pair me with my soulmate.”
He described his first impression of Makoto as a mix of happiness and curiosity, hoping she was humble and shared his strong faith. Nkuleleko stated that the experience has helped him mature and learn to “choose his battles.”
However, he also admitted to difficult moments, saying, “It breaks me to see her destroy herself,” referring to his wife’s behavior on the show. He promised that more candid revelations would come during the season’s reunion episode.
Despite the challenges with his own partner, Nkuleleko expressed admiration for another couple, calling Themba Khosa and Nelisa Ntabeni his “ultimate favourites.”
He encouraged viewers to keep watching, promising more unexpected twists and dramatic revelations as the season continues. The show remains one of the most discussed reality programs on South African television.
