TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has explained the club’s decision to transfer promising midfielder Kamogelo Sebelebele to Orlando Pirates, framing it as a move that benefits both the player’s development and South African football overall.

The 21-year-old Sebelebele, who recently received a call-up to the national team, has been one of the most promising talents in the DStv Premiership. Sukazi stated that while TS Galaxy typically maintains a firm negotiating stance, this transfer was approached differently due to the larger national interest.

“We are a club that uncovers talent that will be national assets,” Sukazi explained. “He would not be in the national team playing for TS Galaxy, and for us, that would have been an injustice to the boy and to the country.”

🔴 Tim Sukazi says the sale of Kamogelo Sebelebele to Pirates was done for the benefit of the country.

The Galaxy boss emphasized that Orlando Pirates offers Sebelebele a larger platform, greater exposure, and more competitive environment that will better prepare him for international football. Sukazi described his club’s role as a developmental springboard rather than a final destination for players.

The transfer comes at a time when South African football is seeking to develop new talent capable of competing at higher levels. Sebelebele’s inclusion in the national squad before even making his Pirates debut highlights the high expectations surrounding his potential.

Sukazi stressed that TS Galaxy takes pride in identifying, nurturing, and releasing players who can represent South Africa successfully. The club views Sebelebele’s potential success at Pirates and with Bafana Bafana as fulfillment of their developmental mission.
