South Africa’s media fraternity is in mourning following the passing of renowned journalist and political broadcaster Tshidi Madia. She died on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, after a short illness.

Madia, celebrated for her fearless pursuit of the truth and sharp analytical skills, built a distinguished career spanning over a decade. She was widely regarded as one of the country’s most respected political voices.

Her professional legacy includes groundbreaking exclusive interviews, incisive political analysis for major news networks, and her highly influential podcast, “Politricking with Tshidi Madia.” The show became a essential platform for unpacking complex political issues for a national audience.

Colleagues and peers have paid tribute, describing her as a tireless and courageous journalist whose work set a high standard for the industry. Madia’s passing represents a significant loss to South African journalism and public discourse.

Details regarding memorial services have not yet been announced.
