South Africa’s Minister of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga, is receiving medical attention after collapsing during the Y20 Summit on Tuesday.

The incident occurred during the youth-focused event, which brings together delegates from G20 countries. Eyewitnesses reported that the minister fainted during the proceedings. Medical staff on site provided immediate assistance before she was taken for further care.

Officials have confirmed that the minister is in stable condition and receiving the necessary treatment. The cause of her collapse is not yet known.

The Y20 Summit is a major platform for discussing global issues like economic development and climate change. Minister Chikunga’s participation was intended to highlight South Africa’s focus on youth empowerment.

Messages of support have poured in from colleagues and the public, wishing her a speedy recovery. Officials have asked for privacy for the minister and her family as she recovers. Further updates on her condition are expected later.
