ANC Youth League Calls for Leadership Opportunities for People Aged 36 to 40

Many South Africans between the ages of 36 and 40 are being overlooked when it comes to leadership opportunities. This age group often falls between two categories – no longer considered youth, but not fully recognized as senior adults in leadership roles.

Collen Malatji, President of the ANC Youth League, raised this concern at a recent event. He explained that people in this age range are often excluded from important positions in government and other sectors, despite having valuable skills and experience.

Malatji said that this group still has the energy and ideas needed to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development. However, because of how age groups are defined, they are often left out of leadership structures.

He urged society to move away from rigid thinking about age when it comes to choosing leaders. According to him, individuals in their late thirties should be given the chance to help shape policies and decisions that impact the nation.

The ANC Youth League continues to advocate for broader inclusion in leadership, encouraging more participation from both young and middle-aged individuals. They believe that involving a wider range of voices can lead to faster progress and stronger communities.
