Unfounded Social Media Claims Label Connie Ferguson as ‘Evil’ Over Funeral Absence

Social media users have sparked baseless speculation about actress and businesswoman Connie Ferguson, with some labeling her as “evil” due to her alleged absence from Presley Chweneyagae’s funeral. The claims, primarily driven by a post from X user @BhovuRbay, lack any credible evidence and appear to stem purely from conjecture.

Ferguson, who has maintained a low-profile and uncontroversial public image throughout her career, has not been linked to any wrongdoing. There is no confirmation that she skipped the funeral, and even if she did, personal circumstances—not malice—could explain her absence. Attending funerals is a private choice, and no obligation forces public figures to disclose their reasons for missing such events.

People will soon realize how evil this woman is. Very soon. #RIPPresleyChweneyagae pic.twitter.com/8e4W4MXzUi

— Siya SA 🇿🇦🇨🇳 (@BhovuRbay) June 8, 2025

Chweneyagae’s passing was attributed to natural causes, with no connection to Ferguson. Yet, some social media users have irresponsibly tied her absence to unfounded accusations of ill intent. Ferguson has not publicly addressed the claims, likely because they hold no merit.

This incident highlights how quickly misinformation spreads online, with speculation often overshadowing facts. Without proof, branding someone as “evil” over a funeral absence is not only unfair but also a harmful leap in logic. Ferguson’s longstanding reputation remains untarnished by these baseless allegations.
