Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has experienced a significant financial setback following his divorce from Rachel Kolisi, marking the end of their eight-year marriage. Since the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement, Rachel is entitled to half of Siya’s estimated net worth of R35 million, receiving R17.5 million in the settlement. The high-profile split has drawn considerable public attention to their private affairs.

The Kolisis, often regarded as South Africa’s “golden couple,” announced their separation in a joint Instagram post, describing the decision as mutual and rooted in respect. Their statement read:

“After much reflection and open conversations, we have mutually decided to end our marriage. This decision comes from a place of love, respect, and understanding that this is the best path forward for both of us.”

Despite the divorce, both Siya and Rachel have reaffirmed their dedication to co-parenting their two children and continuing their joint efforts through the Kolisi Foundation, the philanthropic organization they established together.

Siya and Rachel Kolisi’s relationship has been one of South Africa’s most admired modern love stories. From Siya’s historic achievement as the first Black captain of the Springboks to their shared charitable work, the couple symbolized resilience, unity, and progress in post-apartheid South Africa.
