The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are mourning the passing of Hon. Mphahlele Selaelo Regina, a dedicated member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature and a key figure in the EFF’s Limpopo Provincial Command Team.

Affectionately known as Mama Mphahlele, she was widely respected as a fierce advocate for the poor and marginalized. Her political career was defined by her unwavering commitment to economic justice, earning her admiration across party lines. Colleagues and supporters remember her as a disciplined, humble, and inspirational leader who embodied the EFF’s revolutionary principles.

Throughout her time in public office, Mama Mphahlele was a vocal champion for the rights of South Africa’s most vulnerable communities. She consistently demanded accountability in service delivery, ensuring that the struggles of ordinary people were heard in legislative debates and grassroots activism alike. Her dedication to the cause of “Economic Freedom in Our Lifetime” left a lasting mark on the EFF and the broader movement for social justice.

In a statement, the EFF expressed deep sorrow over her passing, extending condolences to her family, friends, and comrades. “Her loss is deeply felt, not just within our movement but across Limpopo and the nation,” the party said. “She was a pillar of integrity and a relentless fighter for the people.”

As the EFF grieves her passing, the party reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the struggle she dedicated her life to. Mama Mphahlele’s legacy, they vowed, will live on in their ongoing fight for justice and equality.

May she rest in revolutionary peace.
