Nhlamulo Ndhlela Resigns from Parliament to Focus on MK Party Ahead of 2026 Elections

Nhlamulo Ndhlela, the national spokesperson for the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, has stepped down as a Member of Parliament to concentrate on his duties as the party’s spokesperson and spearhead its preparations for the 2026 national elections. The move is seen as part of the MK party’s strategy to strengthen its communications and enhance its political positioning under the leadership of former President Jacob Zuma.

In his role as spokesperson, Ndhlela has been instrumental in shaping the party’s public messaging and reinforcing its core values and identity. Sources within the party say that Ndhlela’s resignation from Parliament allows him to fully dedicate himself to the party’s growing ambitions as it seeks to expand its influence and presence in the next election cycle.

Ndhlela has reportedly been consulting closely with party leader Jacob Zuma on key strategies, including aligning the MK party’s messaging with its long-standing principles of national sovereignty and economic justice. His decision to step back from parliamentary duties reflects the importance the MK party places on clear and cohesive communication ahead of the crucial 2026 elections.

While there is no specific record of Ndhlela commenting on the recent State of the Nation Address (SONA), it’s expected that the MK party will continue its vocal criticism of the Government of National Unity (GNU) coalition’s policies, particularly regarding issues of governance, economic sovereignty, and national security.

For official statements or the party’s stance on recent political developments, observers are encouraged to follow the MK party’s official communication channels.
