Ndlozi’s Silence on Shivambu’s Exit Fuels Speculation of Internal EFF Tensions

The departure of Floyd Shivambu, Deputy President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has sent shockwaves through the party’s leadership, and the silence of senior leader Mbuyiseni Ndlozi on the matter has further deepened the strain between him and EFF President Julius Malema. Amid rumors that Ndlozi may also be considering leaving the party, his lack of a public stance has added to the growing uncertainty within the EFF.

Shivambu confirmed his resignation last week, citing personal and ideological differences with the party. His exit is widely seen as a major blow to the EFF, prompting speculation about its leadership cohesion. Ndlozi, known for his close ties to Shivambu, has neither commented on his colleague’s departure nor addressed rumors about his own potential exit.

Sources within the EFF reveal that Ndlozi’s silence has exacerbated tensions with Malema, with the two leaders reportedly growing more distant in recent months. While Malema has actively defended the party’s leadership and dismissed concerns about its stability, Ndlozi’s reluctance to engage publicly has fueled perceptions of discontent and discord.

Insiders suggest that Ndlozi’s reserved stance could indicate deeper dissatisfaction with the party’s direction. Some members have expressed concerns over his apparent unwillingness to address these issues directly with the leadership, seeing it as a missed opportunity for constructive dialogue.

As the EFF navigates this turbulent period, supporters are increasingly anxious about the party’s trajectory and the potential loss of another high-profile leader. Despite the challenges, Malema remains committed to steering the EFF through these internal struggles, emphasizing his determination to maintain unity within the party.

With the future of its leadership in question, the EFF faces a pivotal moment, as the departures and rumored exits of prominent figures threaten to reshape its direction and political influence.
