EFF MP Sinawo Thambo Slams “Moles” for Undermining Party Unity Amid Growing Internal Tensions

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) MP Sinawo Thambo has issued a scathing critique of internal divisions within the party, accusing some members of sabotaging its unity by leaking information to the media. Thambo singled out anonymous sources cited by *Sunday World*, referring to them as “moles” spreading anti-EFF propaganda. He condemned the silence of certain members when the party faces external attacks, contrasting this with their readiness to speak out when it serves their personal agendas.

“Some individuals who once declared the EFF ‘dead’ after elections are now positioning themselves as victims,” Thambo said, suggesting their actions are calculated attempts to manipulate public opinion. He further defended the party’s commitment to discipline, rejecting allegations that it is being weaponized, and called for accountability among members.

Thambo’s comments come amid rising tensions within the party, with one member urging him to be cautious about making public accusations. The member specifically denied claims that senior EFF leader Mbuyiseni Ndlozi was behind the media leaks, advising Thambo to address any concerns directly with Ndlozi instead of fueling speculation.

In response, Thambo reaffirmed his stance, emphasizing that silence during times of attack equates to complicity. While acknowledging his respect for Ndlozi, he clarified that his loyalty to the EFF’s ideals outweighs personal relationships. “The party cannot continue to be dragged through the mud by members who prioritize their agendas over the movement’s goals,” he added.

Thambo’s remarks highlight growing internal rifts within the EFF as the party grapples with balancing personal loyalties and collective discipline. The unfolding tensions underscore the challenges facing the EFF as it seeks to maintain a united front amid external pressures and internal disagreements.
