  • A woman who allegedly attempted to approach King Misuzulu during the unveiling of a Shaka statue set off a security alarm, leading to a brief disruption. The woman was questioned by the police but cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.
  • KwaZulu-Natal police decided not to press charges after reviewing the situation, concluding that while the woman’s actions were disruptive, she posed no threat to anyone at the event.
  • The incident sparked varied reactions, with some questioning the woman’s motives and others expressing sympathy for her, reflecting the intense public interest in King Misuzulu’s reign and the Zulu monarchy.

A woman who was allegedly involved with King Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s romantic affairs has been cleared by KwaZulu-Natal police after causing a disruption at the unveiling of a statue of Shaka, the Zulu king. The ceremony, held on Thursday, was attended by prominent figures, including government officials and members of the royal family, all paying tribute to King Shaka’s legacy.

According to witnesses, the woman tried to approach King Misuzulu during the event, triggering a security alarm. She reportedly appeared distressed and insisted on making contact with the monarch, prompting security personnel to intervene and prevent her from advancing further. The brief disruption was quickly handled, and the event continued without further incident.

Police initially held the woman for questioning, but after reviewing the situation, they decided not to take legal action. Authorities stated that there was no evidence to suggest that she posed a danger to anyone present. While her actions caused a disturbance, it was deemed that she had no malicious intent.

The royal family has refrained from commenting on the specifics of the incident but expressed relief that the ceremony proceeded without further interruptions. Their attention remained focused on the significance of unveiling the statue, which honors King Shaka’s historical impact on South African heritage.

The decision not to press charges has sparked mixed reactions from the public. Some people have speculated that the woman’s actions were influenced by a personal connection to the king, while others have expressed sympathy for her, questioning the tolerance shown in light of the heightened security at royal events. This episode highlights the strong public interest in King Misuzulu’s leadership and the ongoing scrutiny of the Zulu monarchy.
