Oberon Ndhuna Speaks Out on Son’s Tragic Death and Burial Controversy

Oberon Ndhuna, father of the late Kaone Ndhuna, has publicly addressed the painful circumstances surrounding his son’s tragic death and the subsequent decision to proceed with the burial without the presence of his mother, Lesego Pase. In a heartfelt account, Ndhuna details the events leading up to this deeply controversial situation.

On October 23, 2024, Ndhuna received an alarming call from his helpers reporting that Kaone had fallen into a pool and was struggling to breathe. Acting swiftly, Ndhuna contacted emergency services and rushed home, ensuring that Lesego Pase was also informed of the unfolding emergency.

According to Ndhuna, despite being kept updated on the situation and the paramedics’ resuscitation efforts, Lesego Pase chose to continue her trip to Limpopo for a family meeting regarding her late grandmother’s estate, deeming it “serious” and insisting that her attendance was necessary.

Following Kaone’s tragic passing, Ndhuna, overwhelmed by grief, handed the phone to the paramedics to break the news to Lesego Pase. She later spoke with the Estate Manager, Iaan, who confirmed the heartbreaking news.

Ndhuna expressed that he urged Lesego Pase to return home, but she reportedly refused, prioritizing the family meeting over their son’s death. Following police and forensic procedures, Kaone’s body was taken to the mortuary, paving the way for the burial to proceed without his mother.

This account has ignited considerable debate regarding Lesego Pase’s decisions during a critical time. Many in the comments section have voiced outrage and sympathy, with some questioning her priorities. Others have urged for empathy, emphasizing the complexities of grief and individual coping mechanisms.

The incident has sparked a broader conversation about parental responsibility, communication, and the importance of prioritizing family during times of crisis. As discussions continue, it’s vital to consider the emotional toll on all parties involved and the differing ways individuals navigate their grief and responsibilities.
