Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and the ANC expresses disagreement with the proposal to hire documented foreign nationals as JMPD officers, after discussions with ANC Regional Chairperson and Johannesburg Executive Mayor Dada Morero.
Morero had initially suggested this at the ANC Johannesburg Lekgotla, but following rejection from the REC, he accepts the decision.
Lesufi emphasizes the need for well-trained law enforcement agencies to address crime and apologizes for any confusion and distress caused by the proposal.
