A church in Cape Town has become a hot topic on social media, drawing mixed reactions from users. The church is known for its unique practice of helping single women find potential husbands.

TikTok user @stocksweet24 has posted videos showing numerous single women standing before the congregation, dressed in traditional Xhosa makoti (newlywed) attire, complete with a doek and a scarf around their waists. This dress code is meant to symbolize the type of wives they will become once chosen by the men.

Among the congregation is Vovo, a reality TV star from “Short and Sweet.” The church is led by Apostle Mohlala, who has garnered a large following.

In one of the videos, a man is seen selecting a wife but then rejecting her because she was wearing earrings and appeared too young, which displeased him.
