A woman was beaten by the community for killing her child and she was handed over to the police

South African Police Service members arrested a 27-year-old woman for the murder of her 11-month-old baby girl, she is currently at the hospital.

On Monday, 1 January 2024, a woman allegedly wrapped her 11-month-old baby girl with a towel and put her inside a plastic bag than threw her in the bushes at Nonyevu locality, after a couple of days, the lifeless body of the baby was found in the bushes by a man and he alerted the community.

The mother of the child was traced and the mob viciously assaulted her, police were alerted and upon their arrival, the woman was rescued and taken to the hospital to receive medical treatment.

She will be charged with murder when he gets discharged from the hospital and will appear before the Port St Johns magistrate court.

A postmortem will be conducted on the baby to determine the exact cause of death.
