Ntsiki Mazwai Faces Legal Action After Accusations Against Music Executive

Controversial poet and musician Ntsiki Mazwai finds herself entangled in a legal dispute after making claims on social media that music executive Vusi Leeuw ruined her career. Mazwai, known for her outspoken nature, alleged that Leeuw, her former manager, had exploited and “destroyed” her career.

In a series of posts on the X social media platform, Mazwai accused Leeuw of minimal involvement in her career, claiming he only printed copies of her CD and subsequently abandoned them at his offices. The allegations surfaced in the wake of Zahara’s passing, as fans scrutinized music industry figures for exploiting artists.

Leeuw responded to Mazwai’s accusations by issuing a letter of demand through his lawyers, Rudolph Baloyi Inc. The letter instructs Mazwai to retract her statements and issue an apology, citing the false, malicious, and defamatory nature of the allegations. Leeuw, with a reputable career spanning over two decades in the entertainment industry, vehemently denies Mazwai’s claims and is prepared to defend his name.

As of noon on Friday, Mazwai had not retracted her statements or issued an apology, prompting speculation about potential legal consequences. Leeuw’s legal team asserts that Mazwai’s intention is to defame him to her substantial following on social media.

The unfolding dispute highlights the challenges of addressing grievances through public platforms and underscores the need for careful consideration of the potential legal ramifications of public statements. The story will be updated pending any comments from Ntsiki Mazwai.
