Early Years
On January 23, 1988, Hulisani Ravele was born in Tshiawelo Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa. She is the youngest of her parents’ three children. Her older sister and brother both exist.
She learned a lot from her father, Mr. Ravele. He taught her the value of following your passion. She told how a jag collapsed on her father while he was working underneath a car when it lost balance. In 2014, he passed away.
She claims in an interview that her mother serves as her example. She taught Ravele patience, diligence, and humility. As she grew older, she developed more self-assurance and became in love with television.
Her outgoing demeanor has served her well on television.
Education
Hulisani Ravele studied in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, where she also attended secondary school.
She studied in the University of Johannesburg’s BCom in Marketing Management after completing high school, earning her degree in 2008. She went back to the AFDA media school to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Motion Picture Medium, and she graduated in 2017.

At age eleven, Ravele began working as a broadcaster for the SABC1 youth programming block YOTV. She left her position at YOTV in November 2008 to work as a trainee publicist and marketing assistant at SABC1.

She served as the host of the thirteen-episode SABC1 game show Quiz Me for two months. On Saturdays and Sundays from 7 to 10 am, the seasoned broadcaster hosts the 947 Weekend Breakfast program.
