Kaizer Chiefs are actively seeking a new coach following the dismissal of Molefi Ntseki in October. Reports suggest that Brazilian coach Alexandre Gallo is a potential candidate, but former Chiefs player Brian Baloyi strongly advocates for highly regarded coach Pitso Mosimane, who recently left Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates. Baloyi emphasized Mosimane as his top choice, urging the club to go all out to secure his services, stating, “He’s at the top of my list. In fact, he’s my number one, two, three and four for the Chiefs position. I don’t see anyone else who is more suitable.”

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung shared insights into the succession planning, highlighting that caretaker coach Cavin Johnson, initially brought in for development and youth affairs, will play a significant role in the decision. Motaung emphasized the importance of aligning the new coach with the club’s long-term vision and development goals. He expressed concern about potential conflicts if a coach with a different philosophy is hired, stating, “Imagine we hire a Brazilian coach and he brings in his own philosophy which is not in line with our development.”

The coaching decision is crucial for the club’s future success, as Motaung highlighted, “The future depends on the success of the first team and everything must follow through.” Amid various speculations and linked names for the coaching role, the club seems focused on making a strategic decision that aligns with their vision and goals. The urgency to replace Johnson as caretaker coach is tempered by the club’s commitment to finding the right fit for the position.
