Today the co-founder and commander in chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters Julius Sello Malema was back in court for trial.
EFF leader Julius Malema and his co-accused Adriaan Snyman have failed in their bid to have charges related to the violation of the Firearms Act withdrawn against them.
Judge Twanet Olivier has denied Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Sello Malema’s application for discharge in terms of 174 of act 51 of 1997. The trial will proceed as planned, as the judge stated, “A mere say so that it was a movie gun does not make it so; it’s not evidence. In light of the evidence presented so far.” Malema is accused of allegedly firing a firearm at the Economic Freedom Fighters 5th Anniversary Celebrations.
Comments :
” Julius Malema in the East London magistrate courts, looks defeated, dejected and very close to tears as his application of illegally discharging a firearm, thrown out of court – HAS BEEN DENIED. I’ve never seen such a somber Malema before. The end is near for this criminal”.
