Chiefs Will Be Making Another Manyama-Billiat Mistake If They Sign Mhango

With the DStv Premiership counting down towards the first game of the season, teams are still busy with their pre-season preparations and there are certainly player movements from one team to another since every team is trying to assemble a formidable squad that will challenge, we have seen teams announcing the signing of players and releasong some who are no longer useful in their teams.

We have also seen some technical changes in a coue of teams including Kaizer Chiefs who are now linked with a former Orlando Pirates attacker Gabadinoh Mhango and if the reports are true, they are repeat ing the same mistake they did with Khama Billiat and Lebohang Manyama, it simply means they never learn from their past mistakes.

Chiefs have a tendency of turning a blind eye on quality players when they are still on the prime of their careers, if they show interest to a ayer and another team takes a better offer than their, they give up on that player and then five or six years down the line, they will go for that player’s signature and expect him to be the same player he was five or six years ago.

They signed the former Zimbabwean International Billiat who was hot property during his days with Ajax Cape Town, but when they got him from Mamelodi Sundowns, he was literally a shadow of himself, he was no longer as good as he was and to make it worse, he was injury prone, he no longer had the legs he used to have and was earning a lot of money without delivering what was expected from him.

Another expensive mistake was when they signed Manyama who at some point was the best in the country during his days with Cape Town City, however, they did not fight for his signature and he went abroad, whe he was damaged goods and no longer wanted, they signed him and it was obvious that he was not going to deliver the expected results since he was a few years older than he was.

Now there are reports that they are planning to sign Mhango who has been around for quiet some time, he ayed for Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates before joining AmaZulu, he was hot when he was playing for Bloemfontein Celtic, there is no way he will still be a quality player at his age, this is a wrong move if it happens and they will regret in no time.
