In a shocking turn of events, Xolani Khumalo, renowned host of the popular antidrug show Sizokuthola, is now at the center of a storm following the mysterious death of a suspected drug dealer during an interrogation conducted by him and his crew. The incident happened in Katlehong, a suburb in the southeast of Johannesburg, where Khumalo, accompanied by his crew and the infamous Gauteng Patrollers, known as amapanyaza, descended on a house based on a tip-off on Wednesday. The occupant of the house, identified as Robert “Kicks” Varrie, was the target of their operation.
According to eyewitness reports, Varrie’s girlfriend, Eunice Raadt, who was away at the time, rushed back home upon hearing the commotion caused by the arrival of Khumalo’s entourage. She arrived to find her baby on the ground and her boyfriend being restrained by armed men wearing masks. Shockingly, Varrie’s pants were down, and he appeared to have been pepper-sprayed with a plastic bag placed over his head.
Raadt recounted that the crew allegedly discovered two sachets of drugs in Varrie’s possession but continued to demand more information. They then reportedly suffocated him with the plastic bag, while insisting he confess. In a chilling twist, after the ordeal, Varrie’s lifeless body was loaded into a white double-cab bakkie, and he was driven away from the scene. Raadt suspects that Varrie was already deceased at the time, and she expressed her belief that the enforcers dressed him in her clothes after he had soiled his own.
Desperate to find Varrie, Raadt and her friends embarked on a search, eventually leading them to the Thelle Mogoerane regional hospital in Vosloorus, where they were informed that Varrie had been pronounced dead upon arrival. Further shocking allegations emerged as Rethabile Mofokeng, a neighbor living close to Varrie’s residence, stated that she too had a harrowing encounter with Khumalo’s crew. They reportedly searched her house, seized cash and cellphones, and subjected her to a distressing interrogation, leaving her physically and emotionally scarred.
As the news of this incident spreads, public outcry and demand for justice continue to grow. The police have confirmed that a murder case has been opened and is being actively investigated. However, as of now, no arrests have been made. Tell us what you think about this.
