In a recent interview on Frank Dialogue, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), made the following statement about the ANC Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula:

“You have a Secretary General of the ANC who appears on TV more than Sophie Mokoena. You no longer know who is a presenter between the two of them.”

This statement is a reference to the fact that Mbalula is a frequent guest on political talk shows and other television programs. He is often seen as being more interested in self-promotion than in actually governing the ruling party.

Mokoena, on the other hand, is a well-known South African television presenter. She is the host of the popular news program, “Morning Live.”

Julius Malema’s statement is a criticism of Mbalula’s perceived lack of focus on his duties as ANC Secretary General. He is suggesting that Mbalula is more interested in being on television than in actually governing the party.

It is worth noting that Fikile has defended his television appearances, saying that he is using them to promote the ANC’s message. However, Malema’s statement has struck a chord with many South Africans, who are frustrated with the ANC’s perceived lack of leadership.

As of July 14, 2023, it is not clear whether Mbalula’s appearances on television will have any impact on his political career. However, Malema’s statement has certainly put Mbalula’s leadership under the spotlight.
