Ulundi in KwaZulu-Natal is the hometown of Samkelisiwe Nkwanyana, better known as Samke on This Body Works For Me. After graduating from high school in 2014, Samke enrolled at Walter Sisulu University to pursue a BCom in economics. After becoming pregnant, Samke chose to switch her major to education and eventually earned her degree. Samke identifies herself as an independent person who prefers to take care of herself. I try to invite people into my life, but it never works out because I don’t interact with them too much.
Samke seen her mother returning home with various men as a child. Samke’s mother gave the justification that she was trying to support Samke and her siblings financially. Samke became convinced that she could obtain her needs through males as a result, and she made the decision to use her body to accomplish so because “a girl has to do what a girl has to do.” When video of her content was released onto social media, she created an OnlyFans page, and it quickly became popular.
The breakdown Samke experienced from the bullying on Twitter has taught her to love and accept her body. “I have made about R50 000 once-off from creating content.”
She believes that South African society is not ready to accept or decriminalise adult entertainment workers because society wants to enforce its own beliefs on others. “I’m all about body positivity, I do what I do because I love it. Even though my life was influenced by my upbringing, I still chose this route for myself and I won’t stop.”
Samke recently had an interview and this left people concerned due to her appearance, she had lost a huge amount of weight, and she claims that it was because she got introduced to drugs thats why she is so thin.
