Former ANC veteran, Ace Magashule who was expelled from the movement recently, was spotted with former president Thabo Mbeki today in Johannesburg.
Magashule is said to have had a chat with former president Thabo Mbeki at his Foundation, but it is not clear what was the reason for his visit. Recently, the Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema said he is in talks with Ace Magashule and other senior leaders.
Malema did not reveal the names of the other senior politicians that his party is in contact with. Social critics, however, argued that following Julius Malema’s utterances, something big might be brewing.
“After what Malema said, I can tell that something big is about to happen,” a social critic said in reaction to the visit by Ace Magashule to Thabo Mbeki’s Foundation.
There are some ANC comrades who were not happy after seeing Ace Magashule with former president Thabo Mbeki. They said the former president had not been in good books with Magashule, and now he is running after him because he got expelled.
“But it was Mbeki who ignored him while he was an ancestor of politics in Free state province. Mbeki preferred some unknown candidates for Premiership over him, so what is there to be discussed?” Those appalled by Magashule’s visit to see Mbeki said.
While Ace Magashule was in Johannesburg having a meeting with former president Thabo Mbeki, ANC supporters in Free State, his home province were burning party regalia.
The comrades who burnt their t-shirts and other ANC regalia are said to be staunch supporters of expelled ANC heavyweight, Ace Magashule. They said the ruling party is no longer a viable option.
It is speculated that Magashule and other senior politicians are expected to attend the Economic Freedom Fighter’s 10th anniversary celebrations which are fast approaching. There is so much that is happening within the political circles.
