DA president sends warning to Ramaphosa, It will leave you in awe

Ramaphosa is standing on the road, waiting for an important decision that could be disastrous for countless lives. By signing the NHI bill into law, he will seal the fate of many innocent citizens and drive away qualified health professionals from the country. It is a death sentence.

Imagine a situation where 9 million South Africans, who currently rely on private healthcare, suddenly have no choice but to seek care in public institutions. It will create nightly competition for small jobs in public hospitals that are already drowning in chaos. Scenes of overcrowded wards, empty corridors and bed shortages will be the norm. And if you think that’s bad, wait until you hear about the waiting list for critical surgery, which can stretch to seven agonizing years.

But there is something deeper in the music here. The parallels between our crumbling health system and state owned Eskom, the national electricity company, cannot be ignored. It seems that history repeats itself, and with even worse things. Just as Eskom’s mismanagement led to electricity cuts, the NHI bill threatens to plunge our health into an abyss from which recovery may be impossible.

There is talk of a conspiracy lurking in the shadows, with skeptics questioning the true intentions behind this ill-advised law. Is there a hidden agenda to destroy our thriving private health care sector? Are the powers that be deliberately undermining our access to quality care? That fact may be shrouded in uncertainty, but one thing remains clear: NHI’s debt poses a serious risk to our nation’s well-being.

Ramaphosa must step back, consider the consequences, and make the right choice. The future of our health system is at stake and the lives of millions of people are at stake. It’s time to put the interests of our citizens first, protect the valuable skills of our healthcare professionals, and defeat this horrendous NHI bill before it takes too many lives.
