Parents at a rehabilitation center in Khayelitsha, located on the Cape Flats, are showing their support for the facility after approximately 100 addicts broke out on Saturday. One parent, Sikhumbuzo Ngwevela, shares his struggle in dealing with his 20-year-old son’s addiction. He expresses his belief that the center is the right place for his son, as he feels unable to physically discipline him and believes that the staff at the center should administer discipline if necessary. Ngwevela’s perspective reflects the desperation felt by many parents who are seeking help for their loved ones battling addiction.

In the aftermath of the breakout, the owners of the drug rehabilitation center are working tirelessly to restore order and bring back a sense of normalcy. Concerned parents flooded the center, worried about the safety of their children. Abdullah Gobscall, co-owner of Iliso Lakhe Rehabilitation, suggests that the upheaval may have been caused by a change in management. The center’s administrators are actively addressing the situation, aiming to regain control and ensure the well-being of both the residents and their families.

Addiction is a pervasive issue that affects not only individuals struggling with substance abuse but also their families and communities. The testimonies of parents like Sikhumbuzo Ngwevela reveal the deep-seated challenges they face in trying to help their loved ones overcome addiction. They often feel helpless and recognize that specialized treatment centers offer a more effective and structured environment for their children’s recovery. These parents rely on the expertise and guidance provided by rehabilitation centers, highlighting the importance of such facilities in combating the scourge of addiction.

Nigerian drug dealers have turn South Africa into their dumping site for the poisonous substances they sell. These people don’t care about the lives they are destroying as long as they make money while doing it, and the ANC is to be blamed for this. Note: Not all Nigerians are drug dealers, and South Africans also deal in drugs.

Mzansi, what are your thoughts concerning this incident? Do you think Nigerian Nationals dealing in drug should be subjected to extreme interrogation until they give up the names of their leaders?
