Xolani Khumalo, the host of the popular television program “Sizok’thola” on Moja Love, has made it his mission to combat the drug epidemic in South Africa. He believes that by exposing drug dens through his show, he can help cleanse the country of this pervasive problem, particularly in the townships where it is highly prevalent.
Despite receiving reports of threats against him due to the nature of the program, Khumalo remains undeterred. He acknowledges the stories of intimidation but emphasizes that no one has ever confronted him directly. Fearlessly, he challenges anyone who wishes to confront him, asserting that he will face them head-on.
Since the program’s debut in January, Khumalo’s life has changed significantly. He now lives with the constant presence of security guards wherever he goes, as he no longer trusts anyone. Aware of the resourcefulness of drug dealers, he remains vigilant to protect himself. He takes pride in conducting all operations within the confines of the law, ensuring that proper legal procedures are followed when raiding homes or drug dens. Collaborating with lawyers, the prosecutor’s office, and law enforcement agencies, Khumalo and his team prioritize staying within legal boundaries.
Prior to joining “Sizok’thola,” Khumalo worked as a monitor on the show “Uyajola 99” and was also a presenter on the X Repo show, which was introduced by his friend Xolani Maphanga. Before entering the television industry, he worked in a mine, utilizing his engineering degree in that field.
Just yesterday, the Sizok’thola host and his crew were attacked and almost killed during one of his shows. Drug dealers are losing millions of rands because of his show and if care is not taken, they might eventually get to him. Mzansi, what are your thoughts concerning this development?
