Traditional prime minister of the Zulu monarch, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has revealed that after having a meeting with the chiefs and sought advice from them on what he should do, they advised him not to step aside.

This comes after there were speculations that Mangosuthu Buthelezi was contemplating stepping aside after alleged fall out with King Misuzulu KaZwelithini.

Buthelezi is complaining that even though he still want to serve under King Misuzulu KaZwelithini, the fact that he is not being consulted on important decisions that the king is making, bothers him.

The traditional prime minister, had a meeting with members of the royal family, and he expressed that he was not happy with how things are right now between him and King Misuzulu KaZwelithini.

“Chiefs rejected the appointments to the Ingonyama trust board. They resolved that I should continue as Zulu traditional prime minister…they asked me not to step aside,” said traditional Prime Minister Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

ANC comrade in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province, Nathi Sithole, however called out Mangosuthu Buthelezi for allegedly trying to divide the Zulu kingdom. He said the prime minister seems like he is trying to portray the king in a bad way.

“Buthelezi forgets that the prime minister is appointed by king and not IFP leaders he had a meeting with and took decisions without the king. He just wants to divide the Zulus, he is an old separatist,” said Nathi Sithole.

Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi says he continues to support King Misuzulu as he has done from the very beginning. He, however says that he has advised King Misuzulu to call a meeting to clarify on matters concerning the Ingonyama Trust.

This issue is what appears to be the source of the strained relationship between King Misuzulu KaZwelithini and Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi. People want this matter resolved so that the King can reign in peace.
