The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has been drawing a lot of attention from literally every soccer fan in the country and probably internationally, people are eager to know what really happened when the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper and captain was shot and killed while visiting his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo at her mother’s house in Vorsloorus in October 2014, after one of the deceased’s life long friends Tumelo Madlala took to the stand and gave his side of the story as to how everything happened, another one of Meyiwa’s friends who was also in the house has taken to the stand to tell the Gauteng High Court what happened.

In his testimony, there was a point where Madlala mentioned that when the scuffle ensued, he fled and ran to the bedroom where he hide his cellphone since the intruder demanded the cellphones and money, but Thwala has given a different version of what happened, he said Senzo was in a scuffle with the gunmen while Tumelo was wrestling with the second one, he also added that Zandi and her mother were also involved in the scuffle, he also added that Senzo was not alone in the scuffle since Tumelo was also there in the scuffle when he turned around to grab his phone.

“Senzo was pushing the gunman at the door. Tumelo and the second one was in the midst of that scuffle. Then there was this wrestling between Senzo, Tumelo, the tall guy and Zandi and her mother. They were assaulting this other guy. I wouldn’t say it was Senzo alone because Tumelo was also there and I had also turned my back as I was grabbing my phone,” he said.

Thwala is still on the stand answering to the cross-examination from Advocate Mnisi who is representing accused number 3 on the case, he is yet to face the feisty Advocate Zandisile Mshololo.
