Julius Sello Malema (born 3 March 1981) is a South African politician who is a Member of Parliament and the leader of the Economic Freedom Fight (EFF), a left-wing party that he founded in 2013. He was formerly the President of the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League from 2008 until his expulsion from the party in 2012.

Koketso Mojatau the City of Ekurhuleni’s former deputy chairperson and a longstanding EFF member was killed early on Sunday morning.

It was reported in the early morning of Sunday 24 April 2023 that A former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) regional deputy chairperson and councilor in Ekurhuleni died after he was hijacked and killed. The party said Koketso Mojatau was killed in the early hours of Sunday morning, in what is believed to be a hijacking.

After Koketso was shot and killed today on 27/04/2023 was his funeral. Members of (EFF) came in large numbers to support Kekotso’s family and accompany him as he was taken to his final resting place. Malema, Mbuyisa and many more (EFF) members were also there. Malema showed support when he also walked and matched alongside Kekotso’s coffin while they were taking him to the cemetery. Below is what was shared:

What Malema did is amazing to show his people support, it is good that he cares about them even when they are not there. Koketso was a big supporter of (EFF). Some people might look at this and say it’s nothing, But they have the whole president of EFF come to the funeral of a former member is big. Because Kekotso also supported Malema when he came to Gauteng for a rally. So it is good that he managed to make time during his busy schedule to come and support Kekotso`s family this is amazing indeed. Thank you, Malema for what you did, May Koketso`s soul rest in peace.
