The city of Cape Town and the SA Post Office (Sapo) are saddened and shocked that three of their workers were shot and killed in the Eastern Cape. The police are looking for the people who did this.

Bongeka Nogoda, Luleka Mpambani, and Yamkela Zimase, who were all between 30 and 39 years old, worked as workers at the Bizana Post Office. On Monday, they were killed in Jaca.

Sapo said that the workers were on their way to Flagstaff from a Postbank/SASSA Pay Point when they were attacked.

The police said that, so far, no one has been caught.

“The suspects are still on the loose, and the car they were driving was red or maroon.”

“Right now, we don’t know what kind of car it is.” “A murder case with three counts has been opened so that it can be looked into further,” Majola Nkohli, a spokesman for the Eastern Cape police, said.

On a dirt road, the suspects are said to have shot at a white Ford Ranger that was carrying three women who worked for Sapo.

Sapo said that it wasn’t clear yet why the killings happened but that its security and investigation services were working closely with the SAPS team that was looking into it.

“The SA Post Office is saddened by the needless loss of life and rejects these acts of violence.” The SA Post Office wants the families and friends to know that it is sorry for their loss.

“The SA Post Office will keep helping the family through this hard time,” Sapo said.

In a separate incident on Tuesday at 8 a.m., three armed men are said to have gone to a post office in Flagstaff, held the workers at gunpoint, stole cash and cellphones, and then ran away.

Lt. Gen. Nomthetheleli Mene, the provincial commissioner for the Eastern Cape, said that both events were wrong and set up a task team to find and arrest the people who were responsible for both.

“The team of experienced inspectors won’t stop until the people who did it are caught and locked up.” “We’re asking the people in the area to work with the cops and share any information that could help with the investigation,” she said.

Police are asking anyone with information that could help them solve the two cases to call 082 301 7762 or dial 08600 10111 to reach the investigating team.
