Cyril Ramaphosa Shows DA Who The Boss Is After This Happened

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s response to a DA parliamentary question revealed that the President has taken no action to look into a number of extremely serious allegations made by former Eskom CEO André De Ruyter that two members of South Africa’s national cabinet are involved in widespread corruption and organized crime at the state power utility.

The President has completely avoided accountability by sitting on his hands and doing nothing, in typical Ramaphosa fashion. Instead, President Ramaphosa has demonstrated to the entire nation that after being re-elected at the ANC’s National Conference in December of last year, he is unable to clean up and fix the load shedding calamity and the corruption at Eskom.

oust his party and his administration, which are both responsible for the growing agony and suffering that our nation and its citizens are experiencing.

South Africans anticipate that their President will treat such accusations seriously, suspend any cabinet members who are the subject of such accusations, and begin an investigation to determine the truth. Instead, President Ramaphosa is conducting himself as usual.

This response comes at a key time since André De Ruyter would be presenting his claims to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) the following week. Given that the new Minister of Electricity, as well as many other parties, will not be holding any other kind of accountability, Parliament will only have this one. Other state duties, for which there is no legislative committee and no public accountability, have been transferred to the presidency.

It has been revealed through a DA Parliamentary question that the President has instituted no in🚫vestigation into allegations made by former Eskom CEO, André De Ruyter; that two members of the national cabinet are implicated in rampant corruption.https://t.co/43yLyxpZPM

The DA looks forward to the SCOPA meeting next week where we will have to do the President’s duties once more by exposing the pervasive and endemic corruption in Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet that has thrown our nation into chaos and ruin. We will closely follow the committee’s work and take any necessary steps to uncover the truth about this scandalous situation, which the ANC and President Ramaphosa are refusing to address.
