Is there some political interference in the SIU? New reports have left us in disbelief!

Terry Pheto continues to be the talk of town after she was accused of defrauding the National Lotteries Commission (NLC). The internationally acclaimed actress Terry Pheto has given up her fight against the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) and her luxury house went on auction on weeks ago. But the house was unable to be sold. It was suprising why no one was interested in such a huge mansion which was being sold for less. Reports are surfacing that Terry Pheto’s house auction was stopped by the Presidency. According to investigate reports by Insight Factor, insiders alleged that a “last minute call” was received by the Special Investigating Unit from the presidency instructing them not to proceed with the auction of Terry Pheto’s house in Sandton.

The house bidding was set to start at R3 million and go as high as R6 million. They had about 28 people who registered online to be part of the auction and unfortunately nobody also arrived to the physical location for the auction. According to Asset Auctions, they did not get an opening bid so they passed it and they went to R2,5 million and they also did not get an offer on the property. Turns out this was not true. The auctwas stopped by higher powers. Looks like Terry Pheto is well connected.

Last year, the unit revealed that Pheto – who was the lead actress in Oscar-winning feature film Tsotsi – and eight other people, including two lawyers, an accountant, a hotel group CEO and a former commissioner of the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) were being investigated in a multimillion-rand fraud scheme that allegedly saw them obtaining properties through money fraudulently acquired from the NLC.

A few days ago, it was reported that Terry Pheto benefited another R1-million from the commission. The money was awarded to an NPO which actress Terry Pheto is the sole director, Sunguti Projects. Pheto’s NPO also received an additional R1-million intended for another project. This money was from NLC given to a NPO called, Life for Impact in the 21st Century.

So, it looks like it is safe to say the presidency had knowledge or was part of this corruption scandal. If indeed this is true, this will be “same script different players” yet the President says he is fighting corruption.
