Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema announced he would make an appearance on the radio on Thursday night, 16 March, to discuss the looming National Shutdown.

The EFF held a press conference on Wednesday, during which the party answered several questions about the upcoming National Shutdown on Monday, 20 March. As previously reported, Malema said there would be no violence from EFF supporters, and those who do break the law would be arrested.

The EFF leader made it clear that he would respond to anyone who violently interfered with the National Shutdown with violence. He said anyone who tried to stop him would “meet their maker” and instructed his supporters to defend themselves and return whatever they were dealt “times two”.

In a tweet, Malema wrote he would appear on Radio 702 live with media personality JJ Tabane from 21:00 until 22:00. Thabane said Nhlanhla Lux would follow Malema on air.
