There are several rumours spreading around for the past how many weeks that David Mabuza the current deputy president of the country wanted to resign. Truly, the rumour became a fact and he resigned from the position. Many people were speculating that he was pressurized to resign because Paul Mashatile wanted to be in that position. But why should Paul Mashatile struggle to be in that position when we have few months left for the current president to finish his tenure.

Yesterday, Paul Mashatile was sworn in as the deputy president of the African National Congress as well as an MP at the ANC conference. Many people were present at the event including one of the major ANC chief whip Pemmy Majodina. After the conference, she was confronted and interview by some journalist concerning the fact that Paul Mashatile might be the next deputy president of the country. She said that “there is nothing written in black and white that the Deputy President of the ANC automatically becomes the Deputy President of the country.” They also asked her about how the cabinet reshuffle will look like but she said she doesn’t have an idea.
