This is a Nazareth Baptist Church – Ebuhleni widely known as Shembe. The church was founded by Prophet Isaiah Shembe in March 1910. The church/congregation is founded on principles of love, faith, respect, dignity, honor of God first and your fellow church members.

Shembe is the name of a South African religious leader, founder of the Nazareth Baptist Church, also known as the Shembe Church. He was born in 1870 and is considered a prophet by his followers. The church, which is one of the largest African initiated churches in South Africa, is known for its unique blend of Christian and African traditional beliefs, rituals, and practices.

The membership of the church is not confirmed but the church is present in SADC Religion of Africa. Each branch is led by a special Holiness Lord uNyazi LweZulu Shembe who the churchgoers believe is the manifestation of God because of the fact that he is omniscient, to prove me right, where ever you call his name he shall be be there with you.

In conclusion, what we see the photographs those with beautiful headwear wrapped in their heads are married women. Those who are not wearing anything in their heads are maidens who are pure virgins. These maidens undergo strict verification because they are God’s flowers that blossom everywhere every day.
