Is this the end for Zimbabwean students? See what they did to 200 000 of them

Several people from Zimbabwe are here for various reasons at the moment. Although some arrived legitimately, the vast majority came in through illicit entry. Due to the high quality of education in South Africa, a large number of Zimbabwean students have relocated there. The government is currently figuring out how to safely return the majority of them home.

When the Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP) extension expires this June, nearly 200,000 Zimbabweans will be forced to return home. As a result, many parents in South Africa are worried about their children’s future when they graduate from high school. Despite the fact that the government of Zimbabwe has pledged to fund free higher education for all citizens, thousands of Zimbabwean students continue to emigrate to South Africa each year. When they return home, they won’t be short on resources for a good education.

Policymakers also need to consider how to forcibly expel illegal immigrants. They are mostly to blame for the country’s alarmingly high crime rate.

Would you agree with the government’s treatment of students in Zimbabwe?
