Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema spits fire after the City of Johannesburg officially switched on a mini substation to the surprise of many who felt the activity was a mediocre and didn’t deserve so much attention.
What infuriated many is the fact that there were ribbons and people were to gather around and celebrate the switching on of the mini substation which was just installed.
The red beret leader Julius Malema said this was not worth the ribbon cutting and the idea should not have been entertained.
“This is uncalled for,” Malema said.

A lot government officials are so much used to cutting ribbons even on mediocre activities wasting resources for something that can be done without attracting so much attention. Critics argue that this is because citizens have welcomed and normalised this mediocrity, hence government officials continue to take people they lead for granted.
“Isn’t it ANC tradition to find creative ways to re-distribute state funds amongst themselves? some reacted.
Critics stated that the next thing these officials will be celebrating is pothole fixing with a R300k event budget for every pothole they will fix.
