Police have raided the KwaZulu-Natal home of suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and seized cellphones.
KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said the search and seizure operation is part of a normal investigative process into cases of defeating the ends of justice and fraud, among other charges opened at Durban Central police station in 2025.
This is the second operation at Mchunu’s home, following an earlier raid in October 2025.
Mchunu has been on special leave since July last year after being implicated in allegations of political interference within the South African Police Service.
