Media personality and DJ Thuli Phongolo has publicly addressed ongoing rumours linking her romantically to music producer Prince Kaybee, making it clear that there has never been a relationship between them. She also dismissed speculation connecting her to businessman Edwin Sodi, saying she has grown tired of false stories being attached to her name.
Taking to social media, Thuli expressed frustration over what she described as repeated attempts to create narratives that do not reflect reality. According to her, public assumptions about her personal life have reached a point where she felt compelled to speak out and defend herself. She explained that people continue to associate her with individuals she has never dated, creating unnecessary conversations around her character.
Thuli stated that she has maintained a relatively private personal life and emphasized that her actual dating history is far smaller than what online discussions suggest. She noted that being in the public eye often comes with speculation, but she believes there should still be respect for the truth and for people’s reputations.
Part of her frustration appeared to be directed at Prince Kaybee, whom she suggested played a role in allowing the rumours to gain momentum. She implied that his actions, or lack of action, contributed to a misleading public perception about her. However, Prince Kaybee responded by defending himself and rejecting accusations that he had started or encouraged the speculation.
The exchange quickly sparked debate across social media platforms. Many users sided with Thuli and argued that public figures should be quicker to shut down misinformation, especially when it affects another person’s image. Others felt that rumours involving celebrities are common and questioned whether too much attention was being given to the issue.
Despite the mixed reactions, Thuli remained firm in her position, stressing that protecting her integrity matters to her. She reiterated that she wants to be known for her work and achievements rather than stories about relationships that never existed.
