947 Radio presenter and actress Thando Thabethe has once again sparked widespread attention after what many fans believe is a subtle but undeniable confirmation of her romance with award-winning sports broadcaster Robert Marawa.
Thabethe recently took to Instagram to share a glamorous carousel of images from the prestigious Nedbank International Polo. While the actress looked stunning throughout the post, it was the final picture that instantly captured social media users’ attention. The image showed Thabethe and Marawa embracing affectionately while gazing into each other’s eyes, a moment many followers described as intimate and romantic.
The post quickly generated thousands of reactions, with fans flooding the comment section to express excitement over what appears to be the couple’s most public display of affection yet. For years, speculation about their relationship has circulated online after the pair were repeatedly spotted together at public events, soccer matches, and exclusive gatherings. Despite the ongoing rumours, neither Thabethe nor Marawa had ever shared photos of each other on social media until now.
Earlier this year, eagle-eyed followers also noticed that the two appeared to be vacationing overseas at the same destinations. Although they posted separate pictures at the time, similarities in locations and timing fueled rumours that they were travelling together.
Marawa recently added more intrigue during an interview on 947’s Drive with Thando. Co-host Msizi James directly questioned the veteran broadcaster about his relationship status, asking whether he was currently in a committed relationship or still available. Marawa responded carefully, saying he was at a stage in life where he loves his family and the world around him, without directly confirming or denying the romance.
Now, Thabethe’s latest Instagram post has reignited public curiosity, with many wondering whether the celebrity pair are finally ready to openly embrace their relationship. Social media users are already speculating that this could mark the beginning of a more public chapter for one of South Africa’s most talked-about rumoured couples.
