Controversial Zulu activist and Operation Dudula leader Ngizwe Mchunu has delivered a vehicle to fellow activist Nkosikhona “Phakelumthakathi” Ndabandaba on behalf of an undisclosed businessman who supports his vocal campaigns against illegal immigration.
The handover took place on Sunday, 12 April 2026. According to reports, the vehicle, understood to be a grey Ford Ranger bakkie valued at over R700,000, was gifted as a token of appreciation for Ndabandaba’s relentless work in highlighting issues around undocumented foreigners and their alleged impact on South African communities.
Mchunu confirmed he was contacted by a representative of the businessman, met at a designated location, and handed the keys with clear instructions to deliver the vehicle directly to Ndabandaba. The identity of the generous donor remains undisclosed, but sources indicate the businessman was mentored and supported in his ventures by prominent Zulu businessman and traditional leader, Inkosi Malusi Zondi — a close associate of Mchunu.
Inkosi Malusi Zondi is a well-known and influential figure in both business and traditional circles. He serves as President of the Black Business Forum and was recently appointed as Royal Chancellor by His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini Zulu. In his role as Royal Chancellor, Zondi is tasked with fostering diplomatic relations and driving economic growth initiatives for the Zulu Kingdom.
Ndabandaba, popularly known as Phakelumthakathi, has gained prominence in recent months for his hardline stance against illegal immigration. He has led and participated in several protests and marches alongside Mchunu, calling for stricter enforcement of immigration laws and greater protection for local businesses and jobs.
The vehicle donation has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Supporters of the two activists have praised the gesture as recognition for their “patriotic” efforts in defending South African interests, while critics have questioned the source of funding and the optics of such lavish gifts amid ongoing debates around xenophobia and vigilantism.
As the story continues to unfold, many are watching to see whether the undisclosed businessman will eventually be named or if more high-profile gestures of support will emerge within these activist circles.
