Khama Billiat Could Lose His R1.4 Million Mansion In Kyalami Over Alleged Debt

Former Khama Billiat, once a fan-favourite at Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, is facing a serious off-field battle that could see him lose one of his luxury homes in Johannesburg.

The 35-year-old football star has reportedly been dragged to the Gauteng High Court over an unpaid debt linked to a R1.4 million mansion in the affluent suburb of Kyalami. The property forms part of the upmarket Summerset Village development, where Billiat is said to own multiple homes—now all at risk due to mounting financial strain.

According to court papers, Emerging Markets Home Loans (EMHL) granted Billiat a loan of over R1 million in March 2021 under an instalment sales agreement. However, the company alleges that the former Zimbabwean international defaulted on his bond repayments, falling into arrears and breaching the agreement.

EMHL has since approached the court seeking judgment against the footballer, a move that could ultimately lead to the repossession of the property. This comes after Billiat’s departure from Chiefs in 2023, which was reportedly influenced by mental exhaustion and intense pressure both on and off the pitch.

The situation paints a troubling picture for the once high-flying star, whose career success once translated into a lavish lifestyle. Now, with legal pressure mounting, Billiat faces the very real possibility of losing not just one, but several prized assets.
