A KwaZulu-Natal woman, Sne Mthembu, has publicly accused her boyfriend, Andile Junior, of physically assaulting her and claims police have not investigated despite her opening four cases.
In a social media post that has since gone viral, Mthembu detailed the alleged abuse. The KZN Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, has now been made aware of the matter and is reportedly looking into the allegations.
Mthembu’s claims have sparked wider concern over police responsiveness to gender-based violence cases in the province. No further details have been released as the investigation proceeds.
