Bafana Bafana will meet Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 on Sunday at the El Barid Stadium in Rabat.
The fixture was confirmed after a dramatic 3–2 win by Ivory Coast over Gabon on Wednesday. Ivory Coast topped Group F with seven points, the same as Cameroon, but progressed first due to a superior goal difference. Cameroon secured second place after coming from behind to beat Mozambique 2–1.
Gabon had led Ivory Coast 2–0 early in the match before the Elephants staged a late comeback, scoring the winning goal in added time.
South Africa advanced as runners-up in Group D. The other teams joining the knockout stage as best third-place finishers are Tanzania, Sudan, and Benin.
